Delete your Homie account

Delete it in the app

Open Homie, go to the Account tab, and choose Delete account. Homie asks you to type your own email address back as confirmation, then deletes immediately. There is no approval step, no waiting period, and no way to undo it.

If you cannot open the app

Email us from the address your Homie account uses and say you want it deleted. We complete the request within 30 days. It has to come from that address — otherwise anyone who knows your email could delete your account.

What gets deleted

• The account itself: email, name, photo, phone number, date of birth, language and timezone.
• Any Google or Apple sign-in linked to it.
• Every session, and the device tokens used to send you reminders.
• Every household where you were the only owner — entirely: its calendar and events, chores, pantry, expenses and receipt photos.

If a household has another owner

That household stays, because what is in it belongs to the family rather than to you alone. We remove you from the roster, delete the name that family gave you, and revoke every invite code you created along with your shared calendar link. After that you can no longer reach it.

What stays behind

• Chores, expenses and events other people created in a household that survives. They belong to the people still there, and they are no longer linked to you.
• Database backups and server logs, until they age out — at most 30 days — after which they go on their own.
• If you ever signed up for news on this site, that email is on a separate list, not part of an account. Say the word and we remove it too.

Signing up again later

You can. Deletion is real deletion, so your email address is free again and you can register normally. It will be an empty account, though — there is no way to bring the old data back.
